Settling In

So now that Mike has started working, it's time to adjust to him being gone...and boy it's tough! He works 12-hr shifts. When he's working days, he gets home about 7:30, and is so tired he has to try not to fall asleep until his bedtime, which is now 9:30! He can barely make it! So basically, I am on my own! This is usually what Mike is doing when he's at home :-)

With Mike not eating dinner at home when he's working, I'm trying out more new recipes. This is a pad thai recipe I tried...thank you Pinterest and Karlie!

I finally broke down and bought a seat for Luke to eat in. I think he enjoys the box more! Oh, and I tried introducing chicken (in pureed form of course) to Luke, and he HATED IT! In fact, he gagged himself a little while after I forced a spoonful down his mouth until he threw it up!

Luke's happiest place in the WORLD is outside! So, when there is shade, we always end up on a blanket in the backyard. He could probably lay out there for hours and be totally content! And that is a miracle, because content is not usually a word I would use to describe my wonderful son!

We've had some pretty impressive (at least to me, I'm sure they won't seem so impressive after I make it through next tornado season) thunderstorms! Sadly, they've been at 6 am, so instead of enjoying them, I'm sitting in bed praying that they don't wake up Luke! One did, and boy I was angry! :-) Oh well!!

Tour De Family Events

This last week I was able to go visit Utah...and what a busy time to be there! I was there for a week and attended 2 bridal showers, 2 family reunions, and 2 birthdays! We had a lot of fun though!
Luke's first Independence Day!

Sleeping in with Uncle Trav!

Meeting his future Aunties!
Enjoying his cup of tea!

First lemon!

Mmmm...the food at the bridal showers was delicious!

Grandpa and his angry birds!

Sammy and my K'Nex Creation!

Just Playin' around!

Don't they look ready for a kid?!?!

Dad would count to three and then raise him in the air. He LOVED it!

Luke enjoying our picnic!

Dr. Lundberg

So the day finally came....Mike's first shift as a Doctor! He started out with night shifts (7a to 7p) which is way lame. He's finally gotten the hang of sleeping during the day...it's super weird though that he sleeps all day and wakes up at 5pm to get ready for what he thinks of as 'day' even though I've been up for hours! Here are some pics before his first shift!

7 Months!

This weekend Luke turned 7 months! Holy cow it went fast! He is so much fun! He is rolling like crazy, sitting up like a champ, eating all sorts of new foods, and constantly smiling and giggling! Here are some pics from the last few days!
He's loved sweet potatoes and carrots, and HATED green beans!

Poor child....we dressed him up like a newsie. He was so stinkin cute!

We got him a little kiddie pool for hot days. Yes, I'm pouring water on his head. He may not love it now, but he will learn to :)

Enjoying time with Dad while he's still around and awake :-)

Arkansas Cousins!

Luke finally got to meet his aunt Britany and cousins Will and Lucy! He still needs to meet his uncle Mark, but that should happen next week! Brit came out on her way to Utah. We met them at the zoo on their way into town, and then just played around. Will and Lucy are getting soo big! We loved having them around!
We're also excited for 'Pink' to make her appearance in October!

Lucy is going to be a great big sister! She wanted to take care of Luke the whole time!
